Jyväskylä Market square

Jyväskylä Market Square is located in the Harju district.

The current Jyväskylä market square was originally a sand field called Hevostori. In the 1920s, the field was paved and in the late 1980s a parking space was built under the square. Since 1989, the market has been ruled by Torikunkku, a nearly 12-meter granite statue written by sculptor Veikko Hirvimäki.
