Welcome to the Local4U City Tour de Oulu route!
The City Tour de Oulu’s 5.5 km long walking route allows you to explore the center of Oulu and see the sights as well as the local favorites. Oulu has been chosen as the European Capital of Culture for 2026. The City Tour de Oulu route starts from Oulu railway station and continues towards Ainola Park, an area known as the archipelago of white bridges, where you can either stop for a coffee at Café Kiikku or pop with children in the central play park. The route passes Oulu City Hall and the Cathedral. The journey continues through Hupisaari to Kuusisaari and Pikisaari, where Restaurant Sokeri-Jussi’s Kievari is located in an atmospheric log magazine. On the route you can get to know the market area, which has a newly renovated market hall, theater, library and, of course, Oulu’s well-known Toripolliisi. In addition, there are wonderful red barns in the market, where Aitta Puttiikki also sells domestic handicrafts. After this, the journey progresses towards Kiikeli Park and the wonderful seascape. The route runs to the city center via Rotuaari and through the Valkea summer street to Otto Karh Park.
