Turku is the sixth largest city in Finland and the center of the province of Southwest Finland on the coast of the Archipelago Sea.
Turku is located on the shores of the Archipelago Sea and one of Finland’s largest rivers, the Aurajoki River, flows through it. The town is born on the east side of the river and on the same side you will find the following attractions such as, Old Great Square. Turku Cathedral, City Hall and the first schools. The locals on the east side of the Aura River are called “täl pual river” and the side of the current city center and market square is called “other pual river”.
The Aura River is on average about 50 meters wide and the river is crossed by nine bridges and a ferry in the Turku area, Föri. You can go kayaking on the Aura River and enjoy the varied services of local entrepreneurs by the river. Local4U!
